How People Are Finding Me
By James | February 17, 2007
I’ve been running Google Analytics on JamesTharpe.com for a while now and have learned a few interesting things from it, such as:
- Most newcomers find the site through Google, by searching for some variant of my name. Variants include: James Tharpe, Jim Tharpe, and Jamie Tharpe. This accounts for just over five visits per week.
- Others have found my site through queries I wouldn’t expect, such as “Lance” and “Photo Editing Software“. Presumably because of my blogs on Lance Armstrong and free photo editing software.
- I have one reader in or near Attayyampatti India.
Based on information I read, I re-arranged my site earlier this month to increase traffic. It’s been working slowly, but steadily. I’ve gone from about five visits per week to five per day, and from zero ad revenue to about $0.03 per day. (If you’re using Blogger or have your own website, you can
